Introducing Vital UT with Cranberry, D-Mannose, Mangosteen, and Friendly Flora
We’re excited to introduce Vital UT, a new supplement for urinary tract health and fluid circulation. This product includes high flavanol cranberry concentrate, D-mannose, whole mangosteen fruit, and beneficial friendly flora. This powerful blend of nutrients supports urinary tract health, fluid balance, and immune health. Just like your brain and gastrointestinal system requires nutrition to function and stay healthy, so does your urinary tract.

LactoSpore Probiotic

Vital UT contains a unique and superior form of probiotic called LactoSpore. LactoSpore is a type of “spore” probiotic obtained from Bacillus coagulans MTCC 5856. Spore probiotics have distinctive characteristics which make them stable and hardy. Spore probiotics have a temporary resistant outer coating, almost like a buffering agent. This spore coating allows Bacillus coagulans to survive against adverse conditions like heat, cold, chemicals, and UV radiation that may occur during manufacturing and transport.

Once spore probiotics reach the colon, they return to their natural vegetative form as active Bacillus coagulans. The spore probiotic form improves the Bacillus coagulans capacity to adhere and colonize to the gut and other mucosal linings in the body like the urinary tract and genital region. It helps provide greater number of friendly flora which helps crowd out other challenging bacteria. This presence of robust beneficial flora is vital to the urinary tract and other tissues.

A double-blind, placebo-controlled, multi-centered trial showed that Bacillus coagulans MTCC 5856 was safe, helped reduce digestive upset and supported healthy gut motility. A recent 2018 human study demonstrated that Bacillus coagulans MTCC 5856 helped the brain/mood-gut connection as it supported gut comfort.

Another function of LactoSpore Bacillus coagulans is that it produces L(+) lactic acid in the gut, similar to bacteria commonly used in fermented dairy products, vegetables, etc. Lactic acid bacteria aid in breaking down lactose, supports nutrient absorption, and enhances immune system function within the gut.

A secondary benefit of a health gut microbiome and Lactospore is that it puts less strain on the liver with the enterohepatic circulation – a transport route between the gut and liver that helps with detoxification and metabolism.

LactoSpore is shelf-stable at room temperature and can withstand stomach and bile acid and the digestive milieu. It is non-GMO and gluten-free. LactoSpore has a shelf-life of two years when stored between 59-77 degrees F or 15-25 degrees C.

Cranberry and D- Mannose

Cranberry is more than a tart relish featured at the Thanksgiving holiday table or a juice cocktail. Cranberry concentrate supports urinary tract health without the concern of added sugar from juice. A significant feature of cranberry is that it contains proanthocyanidins, a type of antioxidant that provides anti-adhesion activity in mucous membranes. Cranberry proanthocyanidins help stop germs from sticking to mucosal surfaces and helps maintain a healthy urinary tract lining and other tissues with mucous membranes. Cranberry concentrate helps make urine pH more acidic which is needed for a healthy urinary tract.

Cranberry concentrate is often used with D-mannose to help aid in urinary tract health and prophylactic support. D-mannose is a simple sugar related to glucose and is found in many fruits. It is metabolized in small amounts with the remainder flushed out in urine, which helps obstruct bacteria from adhering to the urinary tract mucosal lining

D-mannose combined with probiotics has been shown helpful in women and men with bladder irritation and frequency. It supports the natural microbiome and nerve signals in the bladder for comfort and urinary tract functionality.

D-mannose has benefits elsewhere in the body. Researchers recently discovered that D-mannose modulates immune-inflammatory stress effects in ligaments surrounding your teeth. D-mannose was shown to support jaw bone and periodontal health

Mangosteen

Mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana) is a fruit grown in Southeast Asia. It is known as the “queen of tropical fruits” because of its great taste and high antioxidant ORAC value. Mangosteen is rich in bioactive compounds called xanthones and oligoproathocyanidins (OPCs). Xanthones and OPCs provide much sought after free radical scavenger support across many different facets - including urinary tract and bladder health. Mangosteen studies also show prized functional support for managing cholesterol, blood sugar, weight management, skin health, and more.
